Tien 2023
Rise and shine, it’s another day of adventure! My mornings kick off with a bit of creativity as I produce short videos for my social media platforms. I’ve set up a mini-studio right next to my bed, complete with a high resolution camera, a good mic, and a big monitor, these devices are not top-notch but enough functions for my usage. I used to be a bit hesitant about making short-form content (for 2 years lol), but since it’s all the rage nowadays, in 2023, March I’ve jumped on the bandwagon and started posting on Yourube & TikTok. So far, so good!

Around 7 am, I’m out the door and off to work. Depending on the day, I might cycle to the office, which is about 5km away from my apartment. As a coffee lover, I cannot start my day without a cup of black drink at my favorite corner in Đại Học Village, Having a quick bite as well. While sipping my coffee, I’ll scan the news or write down some ideas for an article, like this one! On days when I have to visit supplier factories, my caffeine will come from a coffee shop near my apartment.
From 8 am to 11:30 am, I’m in the thick of it, working with suppliers in their factories, leading R&D development, and qualifying the necessary toolings for projects. My role is to oversee the R&D process and ensure that everyone is on the same page. It’s not always a walk in the park since I have to juggle the interests of various stakeholders. Traveling to different locations, like Dong Nai and Binh Duong, is also part of the gig, which means that I’m constantly on the move, exploring new places, and meeting new people. It’s a hoot!
When I’m done for the day, around 4:30 pm to 6 pm, I hop on my bike and head out for a ride around the neighborhood. I’m lucky to live in Di An city, near the national university area, where there are plenty of great roads for cycling and breathtaking views. If I’m feeling particularly adventurous, I might cruise around the central area of Di An, which is always buzzing with activity. For dinner, I’ll usually grab a bite to eat outside, though I’ll occasionally cook for myself.
Finally, from 6 pm to 10:30 pm, it’s Vtenglish time! This is when I really get to let loose and indulge in my passion for teaching English online. I consider myself a mentor and partner, guiding my students through the most crucial time of learning a new language. We work together to overcome the initial hurdles of vocabulary, grammar, and methodology, and once my students gain a basic understanding, we move onto intermediate topics. The journey from scratch to fluency can take anywhere from 6-9 months, depending on the student, but seeing my students’ progress and growth makes it all worth it.
So there you have it, folks, a day in the life of a whizz-bang engineer and English teacher! Despite the differences between my technical and teaching jobs, they both require problem-solving skills and the ability to simplify complex concepts. It’s a challenging and fulfilling life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Cheers to another day of adventure!
