My experience with dental clinic
As a kid I had dental phobia, I was freaking out on the dental chair, so I’ve never gone for any check-up. Recall about that time when my baby teeth were loosen, I extracted them by myself at home. And even when one of my tooth had cavity then I got toothache I still didn’t go to dentist. The reasons for my dental phobia were various from fear of pain or at least the anticipation of the pain, fear of dental equipment, such as drilling, extraction tools, injections, etc. Or even the fear of something unknown which happens in my mouth.
But several years ago in an accident I lost an adult tooth, so I had to implant a new one. Luckily, I met a friendly dentist, she helped me to overcome my fearfulness. I didn’t feel the pain that much, although tooth Implant is a complicated surgery. First, the dentist cut to open my gum and exposed the bone, then she drilled into the bone where the dental implant metal screw will be placed and serves as the tooth root, the abutment and crown on top. Thankfully, it was a successful surgery, now I have such a gorgeous new tooth.
Recently my girlfriend got her wisdom tooth removal, she also has the fear of dental clinic, but with the pain she got from the wisdom tooth eruption, she had no choice. It’s funny in English and Vietnamese “Wisdom tooth – Răng Khôn”. Its name means “smart”, but unfortunately, it won’t make you any smarter and the worst thing happens when we have to extract it.
Nowadays, in Vietnam people care more about their smile so teeth whitening, straighten crooked teeth (with braces), etc. So I think becoming a dentist is a good paying job for you in the future.
