Our Family Trip-March,2024
Last week, my parents took a trip to visit me, and together, we spent a two-day trip to Vung Tau, a nearby picturesque coastal city, only around 2 hours of driving from Ho Chi Minh city. Actually, this time joining us was my younger sister’s family. It was a short trip, but there were a lot of joyful moments.
Surely traveling is a favorite part of my life, and it’s even better when I can spend such quality time with my loved ones. This time we had a big crew of 5 adults, including my parents, sister, brother-in-law, and baby nephew (my favorite adorable dude). So we didn’t rent a hotel; instead, we rented a condo tel, a spacious 3-bedroom apartment next to the beach with an amazing ocean view. Generally, we were satisfied with it. The lobby was clean and fancy, the security guard and receptionist were all professional. They also have a sky swimming pool. It’s a bit costly for a day of accommodation, but it’s worth it.
I’m not a good travel supervisor. When I go traveling with friends, I’m always a follower. Whatever my friends have to offer, I will happily follow since I’m too lazy to handle the planning. But this trip was different; I planned the whole trip. I wanted to make sure it’s a chilling time, nothing is in a rush since we have our parents and the baby.
We departed at 8:00 am and had lunch at a seafood restaurant at Long Son Floating Village in Ba Ria. It was a good experience. We parked our car at a designated parking area and took a walk to a small port. Then a small fishing ship picked us up, headed to a chain of floating houses, then had fresh seafood right at a floating restaurant. The seafood was at the highest level of freshness because they directly picked it up from the local fishermen.
After lunch, we drove for about 30 km to Vung Tau, checked into the apartment, took a rest until 3:00 pm, and headed to the beach. My parents especially love the beach; they enjoyed the moment, which made my day as well. When your loved ones are happy, you are the most happy one. This was also the first time ever my nephew saw the ocean. He was laughing and excited at first but didn’t want to touch the water. I was joking around; maybe because since he was born, he spent the whole first 15 months in the Central Highlands, where he only saw mountains.
After that, we returned to the condotel and took a nice swim at the sky swimming pool, and headed to enjoy the sunset. We took quite a few fabulous family photos and enjoyed such a peaceful and
fascinating moment. Then we headed to an infamous restaurant next to the ocean. I’m especially fond of the place; actually, every time I visit Vung Tau, I always have a meal here. Amazing view, tasty and affordable food, good services, nothing to hate. To wrap up the 1st day, we stopped by a next to the ocean coffee shop, enjoying the wind and feel the taste of mother ocean.
After a good rest, the next day we had breakfast with Pho and had coffee together then returned home. Everyone was happy, enjoying the day together. Since last year, my family makes sure to travel together at least twice a year. I’m happy to be the travel supervisor of “the team”
Lastly, hope you enjoy reading, and let’s spend more time with your own family. Believe me at the end of the day we will all realize family is the most precious gift that you have, and you don’t have this gift forever, so take your time.
